Director, President and CEO
Mr. Taylor is a structural and economic geologist and mining entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience with both producers and exploration companies. He is President and Director of Great Bear Resources Ltd since December 2010. He is currently Chairman of TSX.V listed Kodiak Copper Corp. and formerly a geologist with Imperial Metals, Inc., a TSXV company from 2004 to 2009. Mr. Taylor graduated with a Bachelor of Science honors degree in Earth Sciences in 2000, and a Master of Science degree in Structural Geology from Carleton University in 2003.
VP Business Development and CFO
Mr. Morrison has over 15 years of experience in the mining industry, having worked in corporate development and investment banking roles. He has managed and led negotiations on numerous transactions with aggregate value in excess of $5 billion; including acquisitions, divestments, and joint ventures. Most recently he was a senior member of Teck Resources Limited’s Corporate Development team that oversaw the origination, negotiation, and execution of numerous transactions. Mr. Morrison is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter Holder, a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), and holds a Bachelor of Environmental Science degree from Dalhousie University.
Mr. Singh has been associated with the mineral exploration industry for 25 years. He has strong technical background in evaluating and exploring gold and base metal systems and has outstanding geological, data management, computer and project management abilities. Mr. Singh is President and Founder of North Face Software Ltd. He has worked for both junior and major mining companies as well as developed new technologies for recording and analyzing geological data. Mr. Singh has managed several exploration programs in the Red Lake Gold district since 2003 and was a key member of an exploration team exploring for sediment hosted gold deposits in British Columbia.
Mrs. Diakow is a professional geologist with over 14 years of experience working in the mineral exploration industry. She has been engaged in the exploration for precious metals, base metals and diamonds throughout North America, including over 6 years of gold exploration in the Red Lake area. Using a strong technical background, Mrs. Diakow plans and coordinates Great Bear’s field exploration, and monitors the QA/QC practices on the Dixie Project.
VP Corporate Communications
Ms. Bennett brings over 20 years of professional and entrepreneurial experience in marketing, communications and business administration. She has recently held positions as Director and VP Marketing for digital marketing agencies and mining exploration companies, and specializes in content production and marketing. Ms. Bennett holds a B.Comm. from UBC and has been overseeing Great Bear Resources’ marketing and communications since 2017.
Ms. Lokhandwala has over 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, corporate taxation and mergers and acquisitions. Most recently Ms. Lokhandwala was the Finance Manager of Leagold Mining, through to the merger with Equinox Gold Corp. Prior to this, she was part of KPMG’s mining and US tax practices. Ms. Lokhandwala is a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA, CA), and holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia.
Ms. Compton is a paralegal with over 20 years of corporate secretarial, corporate governance and securities regulatory experience with public companies in the tech, mining and credit union sectors. Ms. Compton has been the Assistant Corporate Secretary for a number of publicly listed companies, including Pan American Silver and Silver Standard Resources (now SSR Mining). Prior to that she worked with Wildcat Silver (predecessor to Arizona Mining) and Ventana Gold Corp.
Red Lake Team
Mr. Boyd has over 24 years of experience working in the mining sector, serving in planning, permitting, and developing projects in Ontario from early exploration to commercial production. Mr. Boyd has managed baseline studies, engineering designs, community engagement, energy supply, land tenure and a variety of operational duties in environmental management. His project experience includes: The McCreedy Mine (FNX Mining), Timmins West (Lakeshore Gold), Lac Des Iles Mine (North American Palladium), Lockerby Mine (First Nickel), and the Sugar Zone Mine (Harte Gold). Mr. Boyd holds a B.Sc. in Environmental Science from the University of Guelph and a Certificate in Environmental Assessment from Lakehead University.
Director, Sustainability and Stakeholder Relations
Ms. Piette has over 10 years of experience in mining investor relations, most recently serving as Head of Investor Relations at GT Gold, through its acquisition by Newmont in early 2021. Ms. Piette has also managed investor relations at Teranga Gold, Detour Gold and Richmont Mines through its aquisition by Alamos Gold in 2017. Prior to this, Ms. Piette was a mining and earth science outreach educator for PDAC Mining Matters. She holds a B.Sc. in Geology/Ecology from Concordia University, and is a Certified Professional in Investor Relations under CIRI and a Certified Sustainability Practitioner under the CMI.
Mr. Russell has over 25 years of experience in the mineral exploration industry, having worked throughout Canada and northern Finland. Early on he conducted research for government geological surveys, and has resided in Red Lake, Ontario since 2006, where he held the position of Exploration Manager for junior exploration companies and the Red Lake Gold Mine operated by Goldcorp. In 2010, he was a corecipient of the AME BC Colin Spence award for Excellence in Global Mineral Exploration. Mr. Russell brings a wealth of exploration experience to the company ranging through all stages of exploration, discovery, development and mine site operations.
